My word for 2016 is trust.

“All the world is made of faith and trust and pixie dust.” JM Barrie ~ Author of Peter Pan

What a wonderful thought…

TRUST

Definition

1.firm belief in the reliability, truth, or ability of someone or something.

“relations have to be built on trust”

synonyms: confidence, belief, faith, freedom from suspicion/doubt, sureness, certainty, certitude, assurance, conviction, credence, reliance

I want to flow through this year trusting in the universe and all it beholds.

I believe in trusting in the possibilities. I believe in creating our reality with our thoughts. Following our desires and trusting with certainty in the outcome.

“None of us knows what might happen in the next minute, yet still we go forward. Because we trust. Because we have faith.” Paulo Coelho

We have to choose between doubt and fear or faith and trust. As easy as it is to trust in our breath, our heartbeat, we should trust in our wellbeing and happiness.

“The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease to be able to do it.” JM Barrie ~ Author of Peter Pan.

In a similar way, if we doubt our ability to be, have or do anything in particular we will cease to be able to, be, have or do…

I choose to go forward in faith, with no doubts, trusting with clarity in my vision for the future.

2016 ~ My year devoted to Trust.

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Okay, I’ll start by saying this is not very easy for me, it’s been over two years since I last published something. The time has gone by in the blink of an eye or so it feels… But the Mac has been calling out to me, I suddenly feel the need to write again and I don’t quite know why…

It may be a need to express myself, to put my thoughts on the screen and let them go. It’s so important to express yourself, however way you wish to do it, writing, painting, drawing or singing and dancing. We express ourselves in so many different ways, through our clothes, our hair colour and style, makeup, piercings, tattoo’s, our choice of music, gardening, collecting things… The list goes on. We need to express our individuality and this uniqueness should be celebrated.

I wonder why I feel the need to write? I don’t feel particularly good at it, on the rare occasions I’ve shared a poem that I’ve written, I actually felt embarrassed to share it. I can express myself in other ways but there’s something about the silence of writing, the quiet tap of the keys on the keyboard or the scratch of pen on paper. I enjoy silence enveloping me and being alone with my thoughts. I think too much. If I write then at least I can focus while my mind wanders and ponders.

It’s important to express ourselves and it’s of great importance to express our love for one another. In being ourselves we attract those that are most suited to us, we’re a light shining out for everyone to see and a magnet to the people and situations we need in our lives.

“Wanting to be someone else is a waste of who you are.”

Kurt Cobain

Not everyone finds it easy to express themselves and it takes time to become comfortable with who you are and then share that person with the world. It can connect you with the most compatible of people and jobs etc but it can also bring about judgement. Not everyone is going to like what you stand for, not everyone is going to understand you but you will feel happier in yourself and you will be more able to deal with judgement if you are comfortable and happy with yourself. You don’t need to apologise for who you are.

My message today is to tell you that, YOU expressing yourself is exactly what the world needs right now. You may have something important to learn but you also have something important to teach.

Be blissfully proud of who you are.

I’m running through the fields
Feeling wild and free
This is the time I’m happy to be me

I feel like shouting from the rooftops
But I know I won’t be heard
So many are sleeping and just can’t be stirred

Life is to be loved
You were born happy and free
There is no other way the universe would have you be

Peace and love
Gratitude and truth
Wake up and start believing
Trust that it’s all meant to be

What you believe in
Will soon be here for you to see

Heady Love
Warm and true
The Universe is cradling you
Back to safety
You’re returning home

Did you ever leave?
Did you ever leave?
Deceived?
Did you ever leave?

Eyes are opened
Understood
You’re supported
Cherished to be you

River running
Overflowing
Budding green leaves are growing
Lush new pastures
So surreal
This is just for you

Senses are ignited
Truly delighted
Crystal clear
Now you see

Now you see

River running
Overflowing
Heady Love

Light and dark

Opposition

Confusion

Intrigue

Making my mind go into overdrive

Delusional

Crazy

Super sensitive

Trying to make sense of what is

Awakening

Enlightening

Truth seeking

Is there a price to pay for this curiosity?

Can’t stop questioning

Needing understanding

Compassion

Empathy

Love overwhelming

Standing out from the crowd

Being too loud

Brainstorming

Dreaming

Creating

Intention

Divine Intervention

Loving this supreme being emerging

Blooming brightly

Feeling lightly

Tip toeing softly

May need to hide

Overdrive

Secretly alive

Hmm, I’ve been thinking about the answer to this question for a while! I’ve always been inclined to say it’s almost always right to trust your ‘gut feeling’ but the more I thought about it the more I realised that its not in my best interest to always listen to mine!

My gut feeling when I want to do something new or unusual is almost always one of fear or worry. You know that sort of butterfly feeling in the pit of your stomach? It doesn’t feel exciting, it feels scary! I feel like I can’t do it (whatever it is) because maybe the outcome won’t be how I expect it to and I’d rather do nothing than take the risks however big or small!

Sometimes we just know its the right time to do something or go somewhere but it isn’t necessarily our ‘gut feeling’ that tells us this.

One thing I have noticed while pondering this question though is that I’ve definitely learnt to ignore or push past this feeling and do whatever I was planning to do. This is definitely a good thing. Feel the fear and do it anyway is now my motto! I have more faith now that everything is going to be alright!

Instinct is a wonderful thing and maybe my instinct is the thing that pushes me past my fear but my ‘gut feeling’ is one of dread! I’m happy to be gradually letting go of this fear!

What do you think? Do you always go with your ‘gut feeling?’

I hope your new year fulfils your hopes & dreams

Do things that make your eyes sparkle with delight
Throw caution to the wind and go on adventures you thought you’d only dream of

Laugh & spread joy wherever you go

Have Faith
Don’t worry
Love with all your heart
Be happy

Be the inspiration others need to see
Read, write, paint, make & sing
Walk, run & skip

Set yourself a challenge
Open your eyes to the bountiful possibilities that lay ahead

Release the magic that is uniquely you!

I wish you a truly happy, healthy, prosperous and magical new year!
